Amy Blount Achor's photographic art takes the photographic medium into another dimension. She is most well-known for her "Vision Quest" images, symmetrical photo-compositions constructed from a single photograph. Each work represents a spiritual journey into the natural world, and is as much about “inner vision” as outer vision. While the natural elements are clear in much of her work, other pieces are more abstract. This is especially true of her mandala series. Achor’s work in various forms – cards, magnets, wall art, etc. – is available from Village Artisans in Yellow Springs. Alonng with her photographic art, you'll also find a variety of her ceramic pieces, including magnets, bowls, and wall plaques. Wholesale and consignment are available. Bob Coates art work is always connected to nature. His hand built vessels always reference the natural world with leaves, flowers, birds and bees carved onto the surface. This narrative of nature also surrounds the faces and figures that are carved onto the clay surfaces. Bob's colors are varied and earthy. He blends differnt styles together, art

Ceramic artist Dianne Collinson is drawn to hand building as a primary method of making. She creates pieces with the natural curves and the richly textured surfaces found in nature; the shape of a leaf recorded like a fossil in clay, the colors of the forest floor, ancient and rich, the ivory patina of old bones reflected in the crafted object. Because each piece is hand built rather than wheel thrown, the naturally occurring irregularities that happen with clay during firing add to the organic, wabi sabi feel of each piece. She works in both porcelain and earthenware clay. Studio hours by appointment

Susan's makes functional ware (primarily bowls, mugs or plates) in addition to more whimsical pieces such as small figurines. Susan loves to explore different decorating methods, especially in bright colors. She is best known for her “doodles” - intricate designs drawn by hand in a process that becomes meditative at times.

Culbertson's current work has its focus in ceramics, creating functional and sculptural pieces of stoneware fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln in her studio. Much of her work reflects an appreciation of natural objects. Other pieces highlight her appreciation of color and vibrancy using underglazes to render images on bone dry clay. She especially loves throwing bowls and uses her skills to improve community, regularly participating in Wittenberg's Empty Bowls Program which supports the Second Harvest Food Bank. Culbertson is a member of TAG, the Textile Art Group of Yellow Springs. Every other year, Culbertson joins artisans of this group in exhibiting her collection of handmade scarves, shawls and handbags at the Winds. She appreciates natural fibers, enjoys spinning yarn to use in the warps strung on the 40 inch Macomber loom and enjoys the creative design process.

Beth's ceramic work is inspired by fantastic imagery, organic and natural forms and real life people's faces. For the last several years she has explored this theme of the human form, (faces and figures) as have so many artists. The guidelines that she has given herself for this work include using positive facial expressions and funny juxtapositions, and using simple color combinations and surface treatments. She hopes that they speak to others as sculptures that represent characters that are joyful, full of wonder and invention. Studio Hours by appointment

Miami Valley Pottery was founded in 2004 by Naysan McIlhargey, his wife Jalana Lazar and his stepdad David Mader. The focus of Miami Valley Pottery is hand made, functional, wood fired pottery. McIlhargey's apprenticeship at Cornwall Bridge Pottery initiated him into a long tradition of woodfire potters, and taught him the technical skills necessary to produce large quantities of functional ware. More importantly, it provided him with an understanding of what qualities distinguish a beautiful pot and a successful pottery.
