Cacky is new to the Yellow Springs area having moved from southern Virginia last summer. She feels right at home in this artsy community. Her passions lie in hoop dance, watercolor/acrylic painting and the culinary arts. Her art is a mixture of whimsy and vibrant colors. She has lost over 80 pounds on her hoop dancing journey, which started in April 2013. She believes being connected with the arts is akin to connecting with the universe around us. Cacky has been baking and decorating cakes, cookies, and candies since the age of 8. She uses organic ingredients wherever possible.

Egyptian Breeze is a group of women who study and perform belly dance so they can share the joy that it brings them with the community. They perform a Middle Eastern dance style called American Cabaret. This is a blend of Lebanese, Turkish, Arabic, and Egyptian dance moves, mixed with American dance styles. They perform at festivals and events in the Miami Valley, and teach classes in Yellow Springs.

Underwood has been creating with needle and thread most of her life, as her mother and grandmothers did before her. She quilts, hand embroiders in various styles such as hardanger, cross-stitch and sashiko, and sews by hand and machine. Most of her work is made at least in part from upcycled materials, making each one-of-a-kind. Most of her work goes to family, friends or charity, to spread colorful cheer and the satisfaction of living an artistic and handmade life. She is also loves to dance; contra dance, tap, clogging and French Canadian step dance are favorites.
